In this persona, Will Hutchinson sings timeless American classic songs by the likes of Roger and Hammerstein, Judy Garland, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and other titanic songwriters from the days of bustling Broadway, the Roaring Twenties, and into the Hollywood Golden Age. Sitting atop a fishnet barstool in a glistening flipper you can count on him crooning and bellowing away into his homemade conche shell like a manly siren fresh caught in the Puget Sound.
During this singular performance, Hutchinson may also be hired with a deep sea accompanist, deep sea bubbles, and deep sea props. Charming and delighting audiences up and down the Puget Sound with his spongy Ukulele, flowing melodies, and merman vernacular, this spectacle requires audience participation and functions more like an Atlantis renfaire show than a dentist’s fish tank so be prepared to engage, participate, and clap your fins loudly.
Please note, because of his sensitive skin and to avoid drying out and turning into seaweed, the Tin Pan Merman must limit his on land or on boat performances to a maximum of 75 minutes before returning to his castle under the waves. On certain lunar cycles, for additional tips by way of cash or doubloons, the Tin Pan merman has been known to return later in the evening as his identical drunken half brother, separated at birth, to sing and lead sea shanties for an additional 20-30 minutes a cappella and with a concertina song or two.
Appropriate Vessels for the Tin Pan Merman: community events, birthday parties, private events on sailboats, yachts, lighthouses, anywhere with a pretty sunset, mer maidtzvahs, performing arts centers, casinos, masquerade balls, renaissance fares, etc, etc, etc…
