From the recording Goldfish Diaries

Lyrics

now I have the time
to drive across the countryside
get lost inside my thoughts
to meet a stranger on the street
watch the woods like Robert Frost

I'm not afraid of the failures I might find
each step I take is mine

now, I have the life
playing guitar 'til my fingers bleed
vagabonding like a bum
I couldn't be happier
if I was Donald Trump

I'm not afraid of the failures I might find
each step I take is mine.. All mine

now, I have the drive
to leave a light on in this world
alleviate some hate
make a grumpy man crack a smile
make the ladies hearts elate

I'm not afraid of the failures I might find
each step I take
every footprint I make
good or bad break it mine

track notes:
I wrote this song while house sitting for Ben Jaffe of HoneyHoney in the house that I eventually would move into in Santa Monica, California during the summer of 2011. I had been planning on leaving my day job for a while at this point and this song encompassed the excitement of embarking on my first national tour (One Man, One Guitar Tour) and life as a full-time musician. After playing shows across the United States and a few months of recording I found my way back to Los Angeles through the snow and sleet of December and returned to my day job in an effort to fund the rest of the album that you hear before you.
