From the recording Goldfish Diaries

Lyrics

to straighten out the knot inside
you could tear it apart but I think this one is out of reach
you try to talk but no one's listening
how did the other half become a total stranger? I don't know...

split personality, losing you looking for me
a split personality, losing you, trying to find me

strolling down this bubblegum stained sidewalk
people all around but I'm alone with my thoughts
thinking four years ended overnight
now the map is gone and I don't miss you. yes i do...

split personality, losing you looking for me
a split personality, losing you, trying to find me

there was a day we rented a canoe
shoved into the St. Croix on a windy Sunday afternoon
I remember we kept paddling opposite ways
no matter how we tried we always stayed in the same place
going nowhere

split personality, losing you looking for me
a split personality, losing you, trying to find me

I kept our old pictures hanging on the fridge
it wasn't real for me until you told me about him

split personality, losing you
a split personality, looking for me

now all we are, now all we are is
(all we are, now all we are is)
all we are, now all we are is
(all we are is)
split personality

Track notes:
This track was written in my studio apartment in Hollywood, CA about three months after moving out to Los Angeles and a couple months out from a four and half year break-up. This song is quite simply about the withdrawal of losing someone that has become an integral part of your life and not knowing how to handle it.
